Face Forward is carrying is carrying your baby face forward, his/her back against your belly. Now why don't we recommend that?
We want to give you enough information so that you can make your own choice. This information applies not only to ByKay baby carriers but also to all other brands that sell baby carriers. There are several reasons why we advise against carrying your baby facing forward:
The preference for carrying your baby facing you has to do with all the benefits it brings. Your baby can turn away from stimuli, has an active posture, learns to correct himself with the arms in that position. By carrying your baby with you in an ergonomic baby carrier or in a sling, you contribute to your baby's proper motor development. When carrying face forward, all these benefits fall away.
But it is not always so black and white. There can always be exceptions to still choose to use the Face Forward position. Think of playing on your lap or a child with a visual impairment who needs to feel a lot.
Use your feelers, do what feels right for you and always keep listening and watching your baby. Do not use the pose for more than 10 minutes at a time.
We hope you now have enough information to make a consideration for yourself that you can support.
Lots of wearing fun!
