FAQ

Always an answer to your questions. If you can't find the answer to your question, feel free to contact us. We will answer you as soon as possible.

Yes, all ByKay baby carriers are designed for parents who are often out on their own with baby. With a little practice (and our instructional videos), you'll be up and running in no time. Tip: in the beginning, practice with your partner and/or in front of a mirror until you have some dexterity and are more confident. Trust us, after a few times you'll feel like a pro.

ByKay's extensive range consists of baby carriers suitable from pant size 44 to pant size 110. The specifications on the product page list the pant sizes for that specific baby carrier.

Yes! Our baby carriers are designed to properly distribute your baby's weight, minimizing the strain on your back and shoulders. The wide straps or padded shoulder straps provide extra comfort. When you wear ergonomically, you put a healthy strain on your muscles: in other words, you exercise your abdominal and back muscles. Your back pain may even diminish or disappear.

We recommend carrying your baby facing you, as this is the most ergonomic position. Their legs are in the familiar M-position and their back is nicely rounded.  This makes your little one feel safe and prevents them from becoming overstimulated.
Does your baby want to look around all the time? Then it is best to carry them on your hip or back, which is just as much fun and better for both of you. Would you still prefer to carry your baby facing forward? You can! Just don't do it for too long at a time, and as soon as you notice that your baby is no longer comfortable, turn them around!

Yes, some babies need time to get used to being carried. This is completely normal. Here are a few tips that can help:

  • Start carrying in a familiar environment
  • Do not stand still, make quiet movements such as rocking or walking
  • Try wearing at different times of the day
  • Start with a short carry and build up slowly

If these tips do not help, it may be helpful to have a babywearing consultation. Please feel free to contact us.

Slight imprints from wearing are normal and no cause for concern. This is similar to prints from tight jeans in the knees and usually normal and not harmful. Some babies may develop blue feet; this is usually related to lower blood pressure when they sleep. If you are concerned about blood flow or other health issues, we recommend that you discuss this with your pediatrician.

Yes, carrying is always a little extra cozy; two bodies close together warm each other up. But don't worry: our baby carriers are made of breathable materials like cotton and linen, so they're fine to use in the summer. Just put your baby in a romper when it's hot and you'll be fine!

No, rather not. The warmth of your body also counts as an extra layer. A thick coat is often too much and less comfortable. Dress your baby in layers and use an Inlay (which is a teddy layer inside your baby carrier), a sling cover or baby carrier jacket. This keeps it warm and comfortable.

Sometimes! A wide coat or baby carrier often fits fine, but be careful that your baby doesn't get too warm. You don't have to buy a new coat in particular: many parents wear their coats open, as you and your baby warm each other, tummy to tummy. You can also choose an Inlay for your baby carrier or carrier cover that you simply attach over your carrier. This keeps you and your baby cozy and warm.

Yes, definitely! ByKay baby carriers can be machine washed at 30 degrees. Use a mild detergent and no fabric softener, and do not leave the baby carrier in the washing machine damp, as this can corrode the metal parts. Preferably let the baby carrier air dry, however, you can possibly fluff up baby carriers made of ribbed fabric when they come out of the wash by putting them in the dryer briefly when they are almost dry.

Yes, you can! We totally understand that you want to try on a baby carrier first. As long as the baby carrier is unworn, unwashed and in original new condition, you can return or exchange it. Please also note that a return fee will apply. Is fitting just too short for you to judge whether this baby carrier is your best match? Then you can make use of ByKay' s 1, 3, 6 or 12-month carrier subscription: you try the baby carrier at home with your own baby, in peace and quiet. Not entirely satisfied? Then simply return it or change to another model. This way you can discover what really suits you.

  • New: completely fresh from our production, these baby carriers are unused.

  • Second-hand: carefully inspected baby carriers given a second life through our Marketplace.

  • Second chance: new baby carriers with a small beauty flaw, such as a stitching error or discolored print. Totally safe and functional, but just a little more affordable.

All three options are 100% safe, sustainable and lovingly inspected and packaged 💚
