In 2001, I became a mother for the first time—the most wonderful change in my life. Three more children soon followed. From the very beginning, I kept my children close to me, but when my second child turned out to be a fussy baby, a baby carrier was no longer a luxury—it was a necessity. Still, something was missing: a stylish, ergonomic, high-quality baby carrier.
In 2003, I decided to take matters into my own hands. With no plan and no investment capital, I sat down at my sewing machine at the kitchen table and started designing. What began as a solution for myself quickly grew into something much bigger: my own company, ByKay.
Motherhood and entrepreneurship have shaped who I am. They helped me grow from a shy girl into a confident woman—a journey that is reflected in my business. What once began at the kitchen table has grown into an international brand with many fans, both big and small.
