Of course, you always want to carry your baby ergonomically. First and foremost for your baby, but of course also for yourself.

One advantage of the sling is that the child can always be carried in a good M position. But why is this position so important? In the M position, the baby's knees are higher than the buttocks. This prevents strain on the baby's back and also promotes good development of the hips.
The fabric of the sling can be spread from hollow of knee to hollow of knee. Whether the baby is small or slightly bigger, the baby is always in a good M position. This is why a baby sling can be used right from birth. In the womb, the baby lies in the fetal position with both hips flexed or flexed.
After birth, it takes a while for the joints to stretch. In infants born inverted (breech presentation) this takes even longer. Babies are naturally very flexible. Carrying in a sling can help prevent hip dysplasia and sometimes help cure it.

The idea is that when a baby is carried in a sling, he should be in as natural a position as possible. If you carry the child facing away from you, the back takes on an unnatural position as do the hips. The back is not nicely rounded, but instead often hollow.
Not only does your baby get overexcited, but it is also unnecessarily tiring on the back muscles. The same applies to carrying on the back; your child's back must be in a good position. Both on back and stomach, the child is therefore best carried facing the carrier.
Some baby carriers or slings do not offer the option of supporting the legs from hollow of knee to hollow of knee. Pay close attention to this when purchasing a sling. With proper support, the pressure on the hips is minimal because the legs are spread out and also supported by the wide straps. In addition, the hips are in a stable position.
But let's not forget the father or mother herself, either. Because of course it is not the intention for the carrier to suffer back pain or other complaints. An ergonomic sling distributes the pressure over the body thanks to its wide straps. With the right carrying system, it is a pleasure for both baby and carrier to carry. So enjoy!
