If you are a man having a baby, it can sometimes feel quite like you are on the sidelines. Your wife has carried your child for nine months in the womb, she gives birth to your baby and then she may also be breastfeeding. This creates a close bond between mother and child from the very beginning. That's just the way nature is, but that doesn't mean that as a father you can't work on that close bond with your little one. Carrying your baby in a sling or baby carrier promotes bonding. You have a lot of interaction with your baby and he or she becomes familiar with your voice, scent and presence.
But there are also many practical advantages to using a baby sling. With a baby carrier you can do many things together with your little one, where with a stroller you often encounter limitations. For example because you do not have your hands free (walking the dog or doing chores for example) or because the terrain you want to do is not accessible with a stroller, such as forest, beach or a place with stairs. It is also super convenient when you already have an older child that you like to hold by the hand when walking.
Which baby carrier or sling does a man buy?
Of course, a man's baby carrier can look a little bit cooler, too. Okay, we also melt when we see a father wearing a soft pink sling with his baby on his belly, or his toddler on his back in a toddler carrier, but we also think it's super cool when a man really sees the sling as an extension of his own style. There are plenty of slings and baby carriers to be found with a cool print or color. A sling or carrier that fits him exactly.
